Children's Blessing

Lord, thank you for our children. May they know how much you love them. Lord, we surrender them and their futures to you; may their plans be inspired by you. Bless them with love and desire for you and for what is important to you. Surround them and their friends with your presence. Lord, encourage them and bring them your joy. Amen

Fellowship Time

From the Pastor's Desk - February

There are several times in life when we stop to reflect on what is important to us. Many of us start a year making goals. Goals are a reflection of what we value. If we want to achieve something, we make a goal and take steps to achieve that goal because it’s important to us. I do this every year, then look back over the year, and see how well I did at accomplishing my goals. Sometimes, during the year things get in the way of us achieving our goals. For me, it usually means there was a shift of priorities. I used to get discouraged, but now I realize it’s okay to lean into those changes.

Another time we evaluate our lives is when we know we’re coming to the end. I have two good friends who passed away in December and another friend who is in her final days. One of the things that I’ve been struck by is the things that they valued most. Each one of them was a little different, but they were all basically the same, relationships. Relationships were the most important thing to them. Their relationship with God and their relationship with those they love and care about. For one, it was really important that her loved ones knew they are loved by God.

When we lose a friend or have a close call, is another take time we to think about life and what is important. The thing I’ve been pondering is to be someone who loves God with all that I am, heart, soul, and mind. I also want to be someone who shows others how to do the same. Does your soul long and even faint to be in the presence of God? Does God bring joy to your heart that is indescribable? If so, continue to lean into Him. If not turn toward him and allow him to show you his love, sit in his presence, in his court.
